[Glasgow and the Campus]  [Scotland]  [Climbing in Scotland and England]

Glasgow and the Campus
The Glasgow University, seen from the Kelvingrove Park. Unfortunately, this was not my Uni...

The Livingstone-Tower is part of the University of Strathclyde. Here are the computer labs situated.

The Andrew Ure Hall was the place I lived for more than four months. My room is in the left bottom corner of the pic.   Me and my flatmates.
Sauchiehall-Street is the main shopping street in Glasgow. It's always crowded, especially in sunny times.

A view from the west towards Glasgow, in front is the Erskine Bridge and the Clyde River.

Scotland
This lovely small castle is situated near Ayr. Seen on a bike trip.   The true, grim-looking highlanders. Seen on a hike in the Cairngorms.
Typical winter conditions in the highlands: Few snow, strong winds. Near Ben Nevis, Western Highlands   Hillwalking in the Arrochar Alps, close to Glasgow, in February.
The harbour of Portree, Skye at dawn.   Typical Scotland: The sea, and lots of lots of sheep.

Climbing in Scotland and England
The climbing community at Strathclyde, Jen, Malc and Neill.   This tremendous and poorly protected climb is called "The Edge", situated in the Loudon Hills south of Glasgow.
Climbing in Stanage, Peak District, England: Britains most famous climbing area is definitely worth a visit!   I'm trying a 5c-roof in Toprope (about 6c+ in French)
Climbing in Stanage means climbing in nature-carved stone sculptures.   Also traditional techniques such as jamming are needed. The sticky gritstone provides excellent protection.
